NE Atlantic Coast Cup 55 Team Wins the Cup!

The New England Atlantic Coast 55's Team won the Atlantic Coast Cup for the fifth time in the past six years at Longridge Tennis Club in Stamford, Connecticut on August 2-3.
The first match was a close win over a strong Eastern team 4-3. Robbins Tien won in a long, grinding singles match in a superbreaker against the Eastern captain Bob Bull at third singles. Wade Frame also won in a super tie breaker 10-8 in a closely fought match at second singles. Jon Bates and Harlan Stone and Al Turner and Richard Makepeace won in straights sets at first and third doubles.
The second match was also a 4-3 win against Mid-Atlantic. Wade Frame won at second singles and the three doubles teams, Jon Bates and Harlan Stone, Phil Kadesh and Chris Holmes, Al Turner and Howie Ames carried the day all with straight set wins.
The third match was a 6-1 win against Middle States after the team had already clinched the cup.
