Ken Rickson Memorial Senior Championship at Quincy Tennis Club

The tournament is held in memory of Ken Rickson, the former director and longtime player and advocate of high quality local tournaments.
Some surprises and some results in line with seedings.
65 Singles.† #1 seed Jon Wilson defeated Jerry Christoforo in the semis to meet #2 seed Gary Chafetz in the finals.† They had a hard-fought battle with Wilson prevailing in three sets. 6-3 4-6 6-2.
70 Singles. Both #1 seed Yoshi Akabane and #2 seed Jack Reynolds lost in the semis.†
Bill Litwin defeated Yoshi three tough sets 4-6 6-3 6-1 while Ron Zack bested Jack Renolds 6-2 6-2.† In the finals Litwin was impressive while winning by a score of 6-1 6-1 in a match that was closer than the score would suggest.
70 Doubles.† The 70 doubles final pitted the team of Joe Ryan and Paul Ajemian against Bob McAfee and Ted Underwood.† McAfee/Underwood had a tight match in the semis against 70 singles winner Bill Litwin and his partner Ed Coakley while Ajemian/Ryan comfortably beat the Rougvie brothers to get to the finals.† In the finals, Ajemian and Ryan got off the to a good start winning the first set 6-2.† But McAfee/Underwood responded taking the final two sets 6-1 6-2.
